Wash Cycle is an expression of apathy about the monotony of modern life. It’s about the feeling of being trapped in a routine, unable to break out of the cycle. This is displayed through the laundromat setting, the circular motion of the washers and dryers, and through the seven versions of the subject representing the seven days of the week. The dull existence of the subject is contrasted by sickly-sweet pink walls.
This work received a York University Open House Excellence in Photography Award and was selected to showcase in the 2024 Maximum Exposure TMU student show.
